A BLUE-GROUND ENAMELLED OVOID BOTTLE VASE
DAOGUANG IRON-RED SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-50)
The vessel has twin pierced dragon handles and is decorated in pale blue and white enamel with an allover design of lotus heads on a scrolling foliate ground below two bats to the rim. A gilt wan symbol embellishes each side and a band of classic scroll encircles the foot. The neck and base are glazed turquoise.
