The asymetrical mirror with scroll and foliate border, on foliate pedestal foot centred by a coat of arms surmounted by a coronet, wood back to mirror

Lot Essay

The arms are for Beloselskoy (Bieloselski).
A large dressing table mirror by Hunt & Roskell, London, 1849, for the same family, was sold at Sotheby New York on 22/4/2010, lot 44.
Elena Bibikov, wife of Prince Esper Beloselskoy-Belozersky, (1802-46), took over the extensive family fortune on the premature death of her husband and was a noted society hostess at the family palace on Nevsky Prospect.
