A FINE INCISED AND MOULDED CELADON-GLAZED 'PEONY' BOWL
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The bowl is potted with deep rounded sides rising from a circular foot, finely incised to the interior with a peony spray in the central medallion, surrounded by a peony scroll under a keyfret band, the exterior moulded and carved with a further band of scrolling peony between a band of archaistic scroll around the mouth rim and keyfret chain on the foot. The bowl is covered overall with a pale celadon glaze thinning to a pale tone at the rims and on the decorative motifs while pooling at the recesses.
