VERY RARE (GAMBA). THE MAGALOTTI-CREVENNA COPY. From the collection of Galeotto Magalotti whose family is mentioned in the Historie and who served the Medici as consul in Antwerp, undertaking important financial transactions with Charles V's Fugger Bank on behalf of Cosimo I. Also from the library of the noted book collector Pietro-Antonio Bolongaro-Crevenna, whose magnificent library was sold in Amsterdam in 1790 over 42 days. The second edition, issued on 27th March, two days after the first edition was printed in Rome by Antonio Blado. Some copies, as here, lack the final quire, containing 2 leaves of errata, one blank, and one with a printer's device; indeed, the quire is not called for in I Giunti. Giunti I, 227; Brunet III, 1273; not in Adams.
