(Plate 32 slightly spotted, one or two light stains.) Original green cloth in gilt and black, front cover with central tennis motif (lightly rubbed, a few small marks, inner hinges neatly repaired).

FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM. First serialised in the Field from August 1876 to November 1877, Marshall's book has never lost its authority. This copy is sold with the 1973 facsimile edition.
