Three parts in one volume, 4o (207 x 148mm). Title-page of each part with woodcut device; woodcut head- and tail pieces, 303 woodcut devices, emblems and coats-of-arms. (Several leaves with paper flaws, not affecting text.) Contemporary vellum with ties. Provenance: acquired from E.P. Goldschmidt, 1964.

FIRST EDITION. The majority of the clear woodcuts are oval in shape and deal with animals and plants. According to Landwehr, this is "the first emblematic item to deal with flora and fauna." Landwehr, Romanic 203; Praz, 35.
