POSSIBLY ENGLISH, EARLY 18TH CENTURY
With tapering blade of hollow triangular section with a spray of brass-inlaid flowering foliage on one side at the forte, hilt comprising small asymmetrical double shell-guard, long arms, lobed quillon, knuckle-guard and globular pommel cast and chased throughout with scrollwork and triumphant Classical figures, and original silver-wire-bound grip
