PROBABLY ITALIAN, FIRST QUARTER OF THE 17TH CENTURY
With tapering blade of stiff diamond section, the slightly raised ricasso with thumb-indent marked with a star and the letter 'G', later guard comprising arched quillons and side-ring, later wire-bound grip with Turk's heads, and ribbed barrel-shaped pommel with turned tang-button, in black-leather-covered scabbard, probably original, with later steel mounts
