With slender hollow-ground blade of triangular section with etched, reblued and gilt decoration towards the forte including a panel signed 'AUBRY LE JEUNE M FOURBISSEUR AU ROY DE FRANCE & Á LA FÊTE NOIRE PONT ST, MICHEL Á PARIS', agate hilt comprising symmetrical stylised double-shell guard, short quillons, one possibly replacing a knuckle-guard, slightly swelling grip and globular pommel, all with gilt-brass collars and finials (small repair to grip, minor chip), in original snakeskin-covered scabbard with silver-gilt mounts and two rings for suspension
