Of one piece, with prominent roped comb extending into a sharply pointed peak, hinged cheek-pieces shaped to the peak and flanged to match the neck-plate, and neck-plate, the principle edges turned and roped, the peak, neck-plate and cheek-pieces all with recessed border, etched with panels of flowering scrollwork and trophies of arms all against a blackened granular ground, and domed iron rivets throughout
