A BOSNIAN SILVER-MOUNTED DAGGER (BODEZI)
19TH CENTURY
With tapering double-edged spear-point blade of flattened diamond section with reinforced tip and decorated on each side with recessed panels and sprays of foliage in low relief, hilt comprising tang encased with silver-gilt filigree-work and walrus ivory grip-scales each with silver-gilt filigree caps to the rivets (one cap incomplete, another a working replacement), in original scabbard encased in silver, the chape with silver-gilt bands set with red corals (Corallium Rubrum), the body of the scabbard embossed with scales (one coral lacking)
