The rectangular spreading pediment centred by a floral wreath above a panelled frieze mounted with acanthus entrelac above a pair of bevelled glazed doors and sides, the mirrored backed interior with four glass shelves, the angles headed by swagged acanthus volutes, on a base with gadrooned edge, the lockplate stamped 'DIENST AMEUBLEMENTS PARIS'

Lot Essay

Eugène Dienst was a second generation ébéniste, taking over his father's workshop at 86, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in 1871. He was awarded a gold medal at the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle.
