A pair of Sèvres-style gilt-metal mounted vases and covers
of tapering form, each painted with couples in gardens wearing 18th century dress, within cartouches gilt with flowers, scrolling foliage, the reverse with landscape in gilt tied laurel branches, the domed covers with metal pineapple finials, the bodies applied with mask and leaf handles, the lower sections with stiff-leaf bands, on circular feet and octagonal bases, each signed DUMAS, the covers with imitation Sèvres marks -- 17½in. (44.4cm.) high, late 19th century (one foot and a cover extensively damaged and restored, some wear)
