AN IVORY 'DOUBLE-GOURD' POMANDER

The pomander is naturalistically shaped as a double-gourd and is pierced with geometric designs. It is carved attached to a leafy flowering branch bearing smaller gourds. A butterfly is depicted in flight beside the branch.
