TWO JADE CARVINGS OF A BIRD
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The first is a carving of a phoenix with its head turned over its shoulder and its feathers carved and incised to the stone. The stone is of a dark celadon and cream tone with black veins and inclusions. The second is a pale celadon jade figure of a crane carrying russet-coloured lotus leaves.
3.1/8 and 2½ in. (8 and 6.3 cm.) wide

From a private UK collection predominantly assembled in the UK in the 1980s.
