A PALE CELADON JADE DOUBLE LOTUS BRUSHWASHER, XI
19TH/ 20TH CENTURY
The double lotus leaves are connected and supported by carved branches, one bearing a small flower. A bird is perched on each leaf. The pale celadon stone has russet veins and small cloudy white inclusions.
7.1/8 in. (18 cm.) wide, on a wooden stand carved as a leaf

Formerly in the collection of Manfred Aylmer Seymour (1908-1991), acquired prior to 1970.
