The vase is decorated with a rose flowering amongst rocks, with two crickets resting upon long grass above. The inscription to the reverse reads Duo qing xian xi lou; de qi shang ming qin, that may be translated as "XXXXXXX" together with three iron-red seals of Xu, Zhongnan, and Xugai. The base is painted with an apocryphal Qianlong blue enamel six-character seal mark to the base.
