CASE: the rectangular case with glazed front and chamfered angles, fielded panels to the sides, the arched top with foliate carved frieze and openwork anthemion ornament to the corners, the waisted bracket base with conforming foliate banding, the interior with cast iron movement bracket to backboard DIAL: the silvered 11 inch circular dial with Arabic five minute markers and subsidiary dials with Arabic seconds and Roman hours, blued steel hands, signed 'DENT' within a triangle and further 'CLOCKMAKER TO THE KING / 28 COCKSPUR ST. & 4 ROYAL EXCHANGE, LONDON' and numbered '61257' MOVEMENT: the timepiece weightdriven movement with dead beat escapement, Harrisons maintaining power, jewelled pallets, fine wheel work with five crossings, counter balanced cannon pinion, four substantial tapered pillars with blued steel screws joining the rectangular plates with chamfered top angles, stop work, with weight to one side, beat adjustment to crutch, steel pendulum rod with shaped steel bob, the backplate stamped 'DENT / 28 COCKSPUR STREET / LONDON / 61257 / 68'
