With tapering single-edged blade cut on each side with deep twin fullers and marked along the back edge 'MRE. IMP.ALE CHAT.T FEVRIER 1860 = CARAB.ER MLE. 1854', brass four-bar guard, wire-bound leather-covered grip, and steel scabbard with two rings for suspension; together with A FRENCH MODEL 1822 LIGHT CAVALRY SABRE, DATED '1876', with curved fullered single-edged blade marked along the back-edge 'M.RE D'ARMES DE CHAT.LT JUIN 1876' and with the model detail, brass three-bar guard, lwire-bound eather-covered grip, and steel scabbard with single ring for suspension
