With curved single-edged blade double-edged towards the point and etched with ‘VR’ cyphers, trophies of arms, scrollwork and on one side ‘XVI LANCERS’, gilt brass hilt with lion’s head pommel, ivory grip (damaged), and original steel scabbard with pierced gilt-brass mounts and two rings for suspension
32 1/2in. (82.5cm.) blade
