Meiji period (late 19th century), with mark of Nogawa
The rectangular box on four bracket feet, the top of the lid and sides chiseled and inlaid in gold, silver, shakudo and copper with an egret with a fish in its mouth flying away from a lotus pond on a light brown ground with gold powder; mark on base
4 x 3 5/8 x 2in. (10.2 x 9.2 x 5.1cm.)
