Arabic manuscript on paper, 64ff. as numbered plus four fly-leaves, each folio with 17ll. of sepia maghribi script, titles and numerous words picked out in red, green or blue, text within blue and red rules, opening folio with illuminated headpiece, including a number of tables, catchwords, reverse of f.1 with added illuminated panel, colophon probably added with signature of 'Abd al-Hayy bin Ahmad al-Gharnati al-Marrakushi, and dated AH 1242, on French paper watermarked 'Blanchet Fres Kleber Rives', possibly in original red morocco binding, decorated with gilt stamped motifs
