A RARE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A SEATED BODHISATTVA
MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The figure is finely cast seated in dhyanasana, on a double lotus pedestal and dressed in tight-fitting robes delicately draped over the shoulders and lap. The deity is depicted with a serene face with down-cast eyes and a gentle smile, all framed by an elaborate five-peaked headdress.
