The text of the present gatherings, taken from the Temporal in a Gradual and containing the sung elements of the Mass, begins with the Mass for the Annunciation, moves on to Sexuagesima Sunday and continues through to Ember Saturday of Lent. Given the number of lively decorated initials, typical features of early 15th-century French choirbooks, the intact manuscript would undoubtedly have been a handsome monastic production.
