The wooden body covered with black leather, the flap with silver front chased with a border of foliage and flower-heads, and with applied gilt-brass 'VR' cypher

Provenance
Almost certainly Richard, 2nd Baron Raglan (1817-84), who joined the Gloucestershire Yeomanry as a Cornet in 1856 and served with the rank of Captain from 1864 until 1875.
