Rectangular, the hinged cover centring an en plein enamel plaque depicting a kissing couple, possibly after Sergei Solomko, within coils and foliate motifs, enamelled overall with floral and geometric motifs in shades of blue, maroon and brown on black and blue grounds, the cover with blue beaded border and set with silver-gilt thumb-piece, marked inside cover and under base
