A PAIR OF CARVED SPINACH-GREEN JADE TABLE SCREENS
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
The screens are carved on one side with figures in intricate landscapes detailed with pavilions immersed in lush pine, wutong and willow trees, overhanging cliffs, pierced rocks and a gushing waterfall, the other side with flowering branches growing from the ground, one screen with peony flowers, the other screen with chrysanthemum. The spinach-green stone is suffused with milky mottling and dark-green specks.
