8° (172 x 115mm). Woodcut title border, 211 woodcut devices including trees, all but one page with an ornamental or grotesque border, 41 with the monogram P.V. (Title slightly shaved on right edge, occasional light staining.) 19th-century calf, gilt arms on sides, gilt spine, turn-ins and edges (lightly rubbed). Provenance: R.C. Grant (bookplate) -- S.A. Thompson Yates (bookplate).
This reprint of the Lyons 1550 edition, 'one of the most complete editions', was published a year after the author's death. This copy is one of Green's two collation copies. Green 47; Landwehr Romanic, 52.
