Small 8° (152 x 100mm). 178 woodcut illustrations, printer’s device at end. (Occasional very light spotting.) Green morocco gilt by Treutz-Bauzonnet, triple fillet border on sides, spine lettered and lavishly decorated in gilt, turn-ins, gilt edges (new endpapers). Provenance: S.A. Thompson Yates (bookplate).
This edition was illustrated by Virgil Solis. Each illustration has a quotation of Ovid and Johann Posthius van Germershem’s translation into German beneath it.
