A CARVED AND PIERCED APPLE-GREEN JADEITE 'BUTTERFLY AND MELONS' PENDANT
19TH CENTURY
The pendant is intricately carved with intertwining melon vines, a butterfly shown alighted on a melon on one side. The stone is of a rich apple-green color with some attractive cloudy inclusions.
1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) wide

Accompanied by report No. 5161208203, dated 07 July 2014, from the GIA, Gemological Institute of America, stating that the present lot is of natural color and shows no indications of impregnation.
