QAJAR IRAN, 19TH CENTURY
On octagonal base on eight feet and circular two-tiered plinth, modelled with open beak and five-pronged crest to head, the body, plinth and base with engraved and openwork decoration depicting seated figures, divs, mythical beasts, hunting scenes and felines pouncing on their preys amidst profuse scrollworks, the tail intricately decorated with figural scenes on profuse floriated scrolling tendrils
