A NYON GARNITURE OF THREE BOUGH-POTS AND LINERS
CIRCA 1790, UNDERGLAZE BLUE FISH MARKS TO ALL THREE PIECES AND 2. TO ONE
Comprising: a D-shaped bough-pot and and two rectangular examples, each painted in puce with a satirical scene of monkeys at play within an oval gilt line and brown-ground cartouche and two flanking oval panels of bouquets, the canted sides with turquoise-ground fluted and recessed panels
The larger D-shaped bough-pot 9 5/8 in. (24.5 cm.) wide
The smaller rectangular bough-pots 6 5/8 in. (16.7 cm.) wide
Provenance
Described as being since the early 19th century in the Grand Salon at Château d’Hauteville.
