A FINE AND RARE CASED PAIR OF AUSTRIAN SLIDING-PRIMER DETONATOR PISTOLS

With browned twist octagonal rifled barrels each signed in full in gold and with gilt bands at the breech and muzzle, the breeches each with three gold-lined maker’s marks, engraved case-hardened tangs each with two-leaf rear-sight, case-hardened flat bevelled locks each with sliding priming magazine on the Forsyth principle, engraved with trophies of arms, and with gold-lined maker's mark, figured walnut half-stocks each carved in relief with flowering foliage, set triggers, engraved case-hardened and blued iron mounts including spurred trigger-guards, silver escutcheons each engraved with initials, and retaining nearly all their original finish throughout, in unusual original brass-cornered mahogany lined and close-fitted case with some accessories including horn flasks, the compartment lids and pistol housed in the lid all retained by pivoting wooden catches
