La Carte Generale et les Cartes Particulieres des Costes de la Mer Mediteranée. Avec les discours necesaires,… Paris: chez l’Auteur, 1665. Oblong 2° (210 x 350mm). Preface leaf, table, head-pieces, woodcut initial, 12 engraved maps. (Two preliminary leaves text stained, a few maps slightly browned.) Contemporary mottled calf, raised bands gilt (spine skilfully re-laid).

Second printing. The general map displays the extent of countries, seas and islands included, from the coast of Arabia to Gibraltar. Compiled and published by the prolific geographer to Louis XIV and nephew of Nicolas Sanson, under whom he trained. Pastoureau, p.153-154.
