Lot Essay

Hundevad reinterpreted this form from a stool, circa 1300 BC, the oldest known example of Danish furniture, discovered in an archeological excavation in Vamdrup, Denmark.
Examples of the present lot were exhibited, The Arts of Denmark, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1960.
