Contemporary red half roan, spine titled directly in gilt, top edge gilt, deckle fore-edges (corners rubbed, front cover scuffed). Provenance: Milton Luros (his sale, Parke-Bernet Galleries, 27 April 1971, lot 139).

FIRST EDITION OF THIS RARE ORIENTALIST FANTASY, purportedly based on an Arabic manuscript translated into Turkish in 1877. Number 178 of an unspecified edition, of perhaps 350 copies.
