A THANGKA DEPICTING TSONGKHAPA (1357-1419)
19TH CENTURY
The thangka is coloured and gilt depicting Tsongkhapa seated in vajrasana with his hands in dharmacakra mudra and he is flanked by two lotus supporting a book and a sword. He is seated on a cloud base surrounded by peonies all above a mountainous landscape.
The thangka, 20¾ in. (52.5 cm.) long; 15 1/8 in. (38.5 cm.) wide, mounted in brocade
