A GILT-BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The body is lobed and flanked by two floral handles. The sides are decorated in high relief with panels of a qilin amongst peonies, a squirrel amidst grapes, and two panels with birds and prunus branches. The shoulder is decorated with three lappet bands. The detachable neck supports the cover, which is pierced with lotus scrolls and surmounted by a Buddhist lion with a ball.
