CIRCA 1754, BLUE INTERLACED L MARKS AND INCISED MARKS TO BOTH
Decorated in gilding with two birds in flight within a shaped oval cartouche gilt with flowers and trellis, within gilt dentil rims (very minor scratches and wear to gilding)

The Collection of Hugh Burton-Jones, acquired in the 1930s or 1940s.

Lot Essay

The pair to this cup and saucer was in the collection of Hugh Burton-Jones and subsequently sold by Jean Loiseau and Alain Schmitz at the Hotel des Ventes, Saint-Germaine-en-Laye, France on 21 February 1988, lot 106. It was sold again at Sotheby's in New York on 20 May 1989, lot 68.
