with signature and date 'J D de Heem 1653' (centre left, on the ledge)

Provenance
Purchased in 1933 by the grandfather of the present owner;
Galerie Fischer, Lucerne, 5 September 1942, lot 1280 as 'Cornelis de Heem' (unsold), and by descent.
