A FINE & RARE 12-BORE OVER AND UNDER SIDELOCK EJECTOR PIGEON GUN

With 30 in. (76 cm.) blacked nitro barrels signed on the top tube, matt rib with two beads, 2 ¾ in. (70 mm) chambers, bored approx. ¾ (bottom) and full (top) choke, blued bouquet and scroll engraved hold-open toplever, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE', best bouquet and scroll engraved case-hardened action and locks, the former signed 'WOODWARD' UNDER & OVER' on the underside, the latter each signed and with gold-inlaid cocking-indicator, well figured 14 ¼ in. semi-pistolgrip stock with dark horn butt-plate, dark horn pistolgrip-cap, silver escutcheon initialled 'H.B.', and much original finish throughout, weight 7 lbs. 9 oz., in original makers leather case with Woodward accessories comprising oil bottles, snap caps, turnscrews, chamber-brush, and nickel-plated striker-pot serial numbered to the gun containing two spare gold-washed strikers

Provenance
The makers have kindly confirmed that this pigeon gun was completed in May 1926.

The vendor informs us that this gun was purchased new by Henry Bahnsen (see Lot 137) and was given to his father around 40 years ago.
