STATUE DE SAMVARA ET SA PAREDRE EN BRONZE DORE
NEPAL, XVIIIEME-XIXEME SIECLE
The figure is seated with legs crossed on a lotus base over an elaborate tiered throne. Both hands are embracing his consort and he is holding the vajra and ghanta. He is dressed in a dhoti, scarf and jewellery. His face displays a severe expression and his hair is coiffed in a chignon secured with a tiara. His consort holds a kartrika and kapala. Two female deities are on the throne and a flaming mandorla is behind. The reverse of the bronze has an inscription.

From the collection of the Ghezzi family, Switzerland, acquired by the grandfather of the owner in the 1990s.
