CHINE, DYNASTIE QING, XIXEME SIECLE
The eight semi-translucent pale celadon jade panels are delicately carved in low relief with maidens in rockwork and floral gardens. The thin spinach jade panels to the upper and lower halves are carved with an array of gilded flowering branches. The red lacquer frame and stand is decorated with gilt peonies and scrolling foliage, and the reverse is depicted with further gilt flower sprays contrasting the spinach jade panels.
