TWO ENAMELLED AND GILT DAJI WALL PLAQUES
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
Each plaque is moulded in the form of a double-gourd supported on an ornate simulated wood stand, tied at the narrow waist with drapery enamelled in green. The upper body is gilt with the character da within a medallion surrounded by five gilt bats against an iron-red brocade pattern ground. The lower body is similarly decorated with the character ji, all below a moulded gilt bat at the mouth rim.
