With broad double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section struck on each face with a maker's mark, long ricasso partially covered with leather and with two downturned side-lugs, iron guard with long arched quillons each with scrolled details forming a fleur-de-lys, and side-rings each filled with a fleur-de-lys, plummet-shaped pommel incised with five grooves, and wooden grip with central moulded leather-covered section flanked by later textile-covered sections
