Lot Essay

The present wristwatch is a rare example of a Rolex dress watch with black dial. While black dials are the norm for some sport and tool watches, such as the submariner, they are hardly ever found on dress watches by Rolex. The charm of this timepiece is further amplified by its remarkable condition: the case is full and presents no signs of mistreatment, and the dial is absolutely pristine.
