The cylindrical brush pot is incised in intaglio with blossoming prunus trees aside bamboo stems and rocks, and a four-line poetic inscription followed by the signature of Fa Liang and the seal, Ke An.

Lot Essay

Fa Liang, with style name Ke An, was a Manchu official active during the 19th century and was known to be an accomplished painter and calligrapher.
