A WHITE JADE 'SANDUO' PLAQUE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The shaped plaque is carved on one side in low relief depicting a basket containing the 'sanduo', a peach, pomegranate and finger citron, below two characters ruixiang, 'auspicious'; the other side with three birds approaching a basket containing two smaller birds. The semi-translucent stone is of an even pale greyish-white tone.
