A PAIR OF GILT-DECORATED BLACK-LACQUERED STANDS, XIANGJI
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
Each is constructed with a hexagonal top finely painted in red, blue, yellow, green and gilt with a mountainous landscape scene, above the pierced recessed waist decorated with a lotus scroll. The shaped, angled apron is carved with ruyi-head flanges from which emerge the elegantly-shaped cabriole legs terminating in upswept feet, which are set into the hexagonal base platform, and are all painted with a leafy lotus scroll.
