Shaped as a melon, the bottle is carved with a butterfly flying besides a flowering branch, and the reverse is decorated with a badger (huan) holding a stem of a melon in its mouth. The jadeite stopper is carved as a cicada.
3 in. (7.5 cm.) high, including stopper

The Professor Marcel Van Eyck Collection of Chinese snuff bottles (1910-1933), acquired in Shanghai in 1965.
